West Indies won the ICC World Twenty20 after they defeated Sri Lanka by 36 runs in the final at the R Premadasa Stadium here today.

Opting to bat, West Indies scored 137 for six, and then bowled out Sri Lanka for 101 in 18.4 overs.

Former Minister and senior DMK leader Veerapandi S Arumugam passed away at a hospital in Chennai today. Arumugam was hospitalised some days ago due to breathing difficulties.
