VESAG WRIST WATCH

WITH A MASTERS in IT from Vijaywada, an MBA from  Rutgers University  in  New Jersey , and 10 years at  Verizon Wireless , one would have assumed  Sadhu , 39, had his professional life all charted out. Instead, he quit his job and invested his life’s savings in creating  VESAG . WHAT’S INCREDIBLE is not that  Rajendra Sadhu , founder of Vyzin Electronics, thought of the device he later named VESAG; what’s amazing is that no one had thought of it before.  When his parents’ ill health caused him to leave everything in the United States and come home to look after them, he started to wonder at the absence of monitoring services or devices that could help avert a medical disaster. SADHU CONCEIVED of a remote monitoring device that could be ‘worn’ and that would track the vitals of the user; the device would trigger an emergency response mechanism when something was wrong.  On coming up with the idea in March 2010, he knew he had a winner; before starting work on developing

Bal Thackeray life history

Views on Bal Thackeray, known as Balasaheb, were as polarised as the politics he practiced.  Known for his caustic tongue, he was idolised by his followers in the Shiv Sena and scorned in equal measure by liberal and secular Indians for his communal, divisive politics that didn't stop with radical expression of views against Muslims and violent action against those opposed to his extreme righwing ideas - including being firmly opposed to the visit of the Pakistani cricket team to India. The cartoonist turned politician was often portrayed as a roaring tiger, the much cherished logo of his party Shiv Sena, which he formed to accord dignity to Maharashtrians but which became known as a party of restless youngsters out for trouble. He was a demogogue whose strong views polarised the polity at the state and the national level, but he never flinched from expressing himself with conviction despite opposition. The posterboy of rightwing Hindu and Marathi chau

Audi R8 Sports car

The R8 is the slowest car Audi has ever built! You might now be thinking I have gone off the rocker. Not really. I am referring to a tongue-in-cheek slogan Audi designed to bring attention to the time it takes to build an R8.  Unlike other Audis, the R8 is meticulously hand-assembled in small numbers. It's a slow and lengthy process, but what it loses in time, it gains in craftsmanship. The performance figures tell a very different story. Powered by a 5200cc V10 engine that develops a whopping 525 PS and 530 Nm of torque, the R8 rockets from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 313 km/h. Needless to say, these numbers make the R8 the fastest road car Audi has ever built. Driving an Audi R8 on a race track has two advantages -- it certainly is the best way to appreciate this scrupulously crafted machine, and it's a great opportunity to polish your driving skills. Audi has designed their Audi Sportscar Experience (ASE) programme in such a way that the

Top 10 alcohol consuming nations

1. Citizens of the post-Soviet  Republic of Moldova  are the biggest guzzlers of alcohol, gulping exactly  18.22 liters  per person every year.  They drink nearly three times the global average of 6.1 litres per person per year.  The country is a major wine producer, with many people drinking cheap homemade wine, vodka and other spirits and the Moldovan intake was made up roughly equally of wine, spirits and beer. 2. The people from  Czech Republic  are next with a consumption of  16.45 litres  per person every year.  Two months back, however, the country enforced a ban on sales of hard liquor, as deaths and injuries from methanol-laced bootleg alcohol rose. Around 20 people died and 36 people were in critical condition since the outbreak.  The country consumes more beer (around 8.5L) than any other alcoholic beverage. 3.  Apparently, drinking alcohol is engrained in Hungary's  working culture. In eastern Hungary, a rural people often have a shot of “palinka,''
