Foreign banks with most branches in India


Despite many regulations and restrictions, foreign banks continue to operate in India.

 According to the Government of India, among the numerous foreign banks which are carrying out business in India, these are the 10 banks with the most number of branches in the country as of April 30, 2012.


Standard Chartered Bank
Standard Chartered Bank is becoming the largest foreign bank in India for its operations in banking and financial services. It is also listed on the National Stock Exchange of India.

HSBC
Apart from providing banking services in various developed countries, HSBC operates many centres out of India.
No. of branches in India: 50

Citibank
Citibank is one of the major international banks and has retail banking operations in more than 160 countries. The online services are among its most successful.

The Royal Bank of Scotland
With over 700 branches worldwide, The Royal Bank of Scotland provides banking facilities in various countries, including India.

Deutsche Bank
Deutsche Bank is a global banking and financial services company which offers financial products and services for private and business clients as well as corporate and institutional clients.

DBS Bank
DBS bank is incorporated in Singapore and some of its branches are located in major Indian cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Pune.

DMK POLITICIAN VEERAPANDI ARUMUGAM PASSES AWAY IN CHENNAI HOSPITAL

Former Minister and senior DMK leader Veerapandi S Arumugam passed away at a hospital in Chennai today. Arumugam was hospitalised some days ago due to breathing difficulties. His end came this morning, sources said. He was born on 26 January 1937 in Pollavari, Salem, and was a strongman of the DMK in that area. He was recently under the Goondas Act and was later let off.
